BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

7th October 2003, today is the feast day of our Lady of the Holy Rosary after whom the school is named.
The school opened officially with concelebrated mass by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. AJV Obinna, the
Archbishop of Owerri who is also the founder of the college.
At the end of the Holy Mass which was attended by all the school staff and students, His Grace
addressed all present and gave the school a cow to celebrate our feast. We explained the
meaning of the school motto: Deum Magnificare which means “To glorify God” emphasizing that the
lives of the students and staff of the college should be that of excellence so that God will be glorified
through our lives.

The students who are all boarders returned to the school on Friday 3rd of October 2003.
The following staff members were also present for the school’s incorporation.
